Canada’s W. Amsler moving into international markets

Canadian-based blow molding machine maker W. Amsler Equipment Inc. is making inroads in the international market after its first major equipment sales in the U.S. and the Caribbean.

W. Amsler, headquartered in Richmond Hill, Ont., recently sold four electric stretch blow molding machines to blow molded packager Consolidated Container Co. LLC of Atlanta, Ga., and a four-cavity machine to bottle maker Containers Plus in Barbados.

The sales come on the heels of new sales representation in these regions. In early 2012 W. Amsler appointed GMK Advisors Inc. to manage its sales in the U.S. and Caribbean. GMK has offices in Chicago and Hilton Head, S.C. “Working with GMK. has been a real asset in promoting and selling the PET stretch-blow molding machinery and leak testers into new accounts,” Heidi Amsler, W. Amsler’s sales and marketing manager, told Canadian Plastics. “GMK is owned by Tom Schneider and Bill O’Day, both of whom were executives of blow molding machinery manufacturers in the past. From 2003 to 2011, they were exclusive sales representatives for Mag-Plastic Machinery in the US. GMK’s history with Mag-Plastic ties in directly with our marketing and sales plans.” Ohio-based Mag-Plastic stopped producing electric machines in 2011, Amsler said, giving W. Amsler a big opportunity to expand internationally.

W. Amsler is a private, family-owned and operated company founded by Werner Amsler in 1994.
