There are several ways that an actor may do this, but a crucial part of their marketing toolbox is their website and the personal website template they choose.

In this article, we’re going to help get your creative juices flowing. We’ll walk you through the key components you should include on your website. We’ll also showcase 15 of the best actor website examples to offer you some inspiration for your own.

What Is an Actor Website?

An actor website is much as it sounds. It is a website that is created specifically to promote an actor and generate interest from casting directors, agencies, and producers. These websites will usually include several elements such as:

  • A summary of the actor’s experience
  • Their skills and qualifications
  • Capabilities
  • Examples of their work
  • Their rates (on some occasions)
  • Contact information

Depending on the approach and success of an actor, their website may be created by themself or by their agent.

Benefits of an Actor Website

There are many benefits of creating an actor website.

Websites like these are powerful marketing tools. They can be used to make you more discoverable through search engines and link sharing. This can open you up to new opportunities that may not have been available if you hadn’t created your own website.

Actor websites can also be used as a reference where actors or their agents can direct interested individuals to find out more. For example, an agent may meet a director at a swanky networking event where they could hand over a link to a promising new actor’s website for consideration. That could be you!

I love how clean Squarespace looks. Even if you don’t have any website design experience, you can end up publishing a very professional looking website.

Q&A

How long have you been using Squarespace?

I’ve used it since 2020, so 3 years. And I would never change to another platform for my website.

What do you like most about Squarespace?

I loved the “block” / 12 Column grid structure they have. It makes everything look aligned, clean and symmetrical. I also love the Squarespace forum where a lot of professionals take their time out to answer questions. Community is really important to me, and I think they have amazing and skilled designers in their community.

I also love the way their shop is set up. I have been thinking about creating online courses for future creatives to sell on my personal website. Everything integrates so seamlessly–it’s all there in one place.

Is there anything you'd change about Squarespace?

Before their new “drag & drop” feature, that was what I wished for–to have the option to drag elements around so we weren’t confined to the block/grid system they set for us. It felt a bit rigid without CSS/code. But now they have it, so yay!

Would you recommend Squarespace to others?

I’ve designed on Wix and WordPress before. It’s the only one I would recommend.

15 of the Best Actor Website Examples

#1. Eileen Grubba

Made With: Wix

Bold colors and simple design really help actress, producer, writer, and speaker Eileen Grubba’s website pop. This website is not over complicated and serves just the most essential information, along with a simple contact form for when the reader is ready to engage.

Some of the best artist website builders come with bold pre-made designs like this, so they’re worth checking out while you’re in the inspiration phase!

Advice from the Experts

TOP TIP: Using one bold color throughout your website will create consistency while keeping the reader engaged.

#2. Joel Reuben Ganz

Made With: GoDaddy

Joel Reuben’s website is a great example of a well-planned out actor’s site. Along with the usual content such as headshots, Reuben’s site separates some of his specialisms into separate pages.

One good example of this is his dedicated voice-over page where he showcases his ability to produce high-quality voice-overs.

We recently spoke with Loren Raye Voiceover about setting up a business with GoDaddy:

Loren Raye is a professional voiceover artist and a public speaking coach for students in the 3rd-12th grade. When Loren decided to expand and create her public speaking business, she turned to GoDaddy right away because of the great customer service.
My favorite thing about GoDaddy is the simplicity combined with the versatility.

Q&A

How long have you been using GoDaddy?

I’ve owned www. lorenraye.com for 10+ years and until last August had always hired someone to do my website for me. When I decided to expand and create my public speaking business, I turned to GoDaddy right away because their customer service is great. Once I realized I could make my own website, I did both business sites myself and no longer have a need to hire someone to do it for me. It was incredibly simple, and I’m thrilled to use that money on something else my business needs.

Is GoDaddy easy to use?

Truly it’s the easiest thing to use. Anytime I need to update something (a testimonial, for example), it takes me about 90 seconds. I feel like I have way more control over my businesses than I did when I had to outsource the website maintenance. I can stay far more current than I had been in the past.

What do you like most about GoDaddy?

My favorite thing about GoDaddy is the simplicity combined with the versatility. It’s very user-friendly, I can customize my websites exactly how I want, and the customer service professionals are always really friendly if I have any questions.

Is there anything you'd change about GoDaddy?

Honestly, I don’t have any suggestions about how to change GoDaddy. They’ve been great to me.
